The Latest Construction Equipment

wedge

Construction equipment such as large excavators, tipper trucks and cranes can be prohibitively expensive to buy new; far out of reach of smaller companies wishing to offer the services required to compete with the major contractors. Buying pre-used equipment can be a savvy way to reduce costs and offer the premium services at a competitive rate.

Hard working equipment often has many years of service left in them, resellers will not often want to take on items that are of no use, especially given the current ability to nullify a sale agreement if the condition of an item is not as described or is degraded beyond reasonable assumption. Construction equipment is also notoriously robust which means that bargains can be had if you are prepared to put the effort into finding the good units.

If you are buying from a private seller, or from a Broker or Auction house that does not provide indemnity cover then it is well worth making an inspection yourself. Read up on the equipment you are looking at and make sure everything works as it should, for sure on major equipment units like excavators, tipper trucks and Loaders the hydraulics should all function and the driving ability should also be checked carefully.

Resale weekly exist too put you in touch with genuine sellers, brokers and Auction houses where you will be able to find exactly the construction equipment you need for your company.

Farming Equipment

Buying used farm equipment must be carefully considered. These are vehicles that will have been used in all weathers, on rough ground and usually stored in open sheds. While they were built for this purpose it is well worth checking out your potential purchases with care to make sure that what you are buying is going to continue to give sterling service for many years to come.

Buying from a broker can be a great way to reduce this risk as brokers will not take on a vehicle or item of equipment if it is not sellable, better yet some sellers carry out re-conditioning work that should come with a guarantee. Even Auction houses are now offering indemnity against failure of vehicles and equipment. The prices you will pay for this assurance may be slightly higher than that of a direct sale but the additional security could be worth it if you cannot travel to inspect the vehicle directly or you are buying a group of units and wish to be sure that all of them will perform as you require.

Resale weekly is a premier site for the buying and selling of construction equipment and farming machinery, we can put you in touch with private sellers, brokers and auctions of quality pre-used machinery.

Light at the end of tunnel for the Russian construction industry

The construction industry in Russia has been badly affected by the global economic downturn. The slowdown in the domestic construction market began in 2008 and intensified in 2009. The majority of commercial construction projects have been suspended and virtually no new commercial or residential property projects have been started. For the first time this decade, the value of construction works will have shrunk by over 15%, in comparison with 2008. Despite this though, it seems that the worst of the storm has passed and market stability should return in 2010, with the promise of growth in 2011.

Cement markets in Central Eastern Europe are expected to grow

Both the construction and cement markets in CEE have been affected by the global downturn. The combined cement consumption in six countries of the region, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia fell from over 44 million tonnes last year to less than 37 million in 2009, although an increase in growth is predicted for 2010.

Polish power determines the future of the construction industry

Major engineering projects are being instigated including the building of several coal-fired power stations. The capital expenditure planned by the power companies in the next 10 -15 years will amount to up to € 50 billion.

Central and Eastern Europe to beat credit crunch

Construction and plant and machinery dealers should consider budding opportunities in CEE to avoid the credit crunch in the UK, according to research by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The document, Building New Europe’s Infrastructure, outlines the number of opportunities for work on PPP projects across CEE countries as they look to firms from the UK to provide the funding and expertise to deliver huge infrastructure projects.

Buying Used Trucks From Machinery Auctions

wedge

Machinery auctions can be a great way to pick up new equipment at low prices. Buying through an Auction house can be less straightforward than buying direct from a broker but the savings can be greater than you may imagine.

As with any purchase, though more so here, research is the key to getting a good deal. Resale weekly have given you the facility to view all auctions by date so it is easy for you to find the right lots for you, and to allow you to prepare by checking out the common faults of the lots you want to bid on. Always have a couple of reserve lots in mind in case your primary objective goes over your price range – and you must have an upper limit that you stick to, or a bargain could turn into an unacceptable expense.
Our recommendation is that you arrive early enough to check out your primary lots and your reserves thoroughly. Check for the common faults first then get onto lesser problems. If you are unsure what you need to look for check of the auction house offers an indemnity policy. This policy will cover you if the truck turns out to have been stolen, written off or fails within 6 months of purchase (assuming it was marketed as in sound condition). If this is your first time at this auction house then you must be prepared to go through the formality of registering and possibly paying a security deposit at registration.

Resale Weekly give you full information about each upcoming machinery auction so that you can find the best deals on trucks and other construction equipment.

Who Are The Big Brands For Tipper Trucks?

wedge
Home | Back | Posted on by admin

Tipper trucks are available in a wide range of sizes. Your choice of preferred manufacturer for tipper trucks is largely dependant on the application you are buying for and the size of truck this application requires.

The main commercial vehicle manufacturers all produce some variation on the tipper truck theme, though the only manufacturer who offers this ability as a standard is Ford with the Transit 350 with a lifting flatbed other light commercial manufacturers tend to class tippers of this bracket as a special order body type.

Moving up the scale somewhat are the 7.5 ton tippers. Iveco and DAF produce some of the most common models of tipper at this size, usually variants of the company’s 7.5 tonne chassis. These vehicles are not highly specialised because of this standard design, however they are designed with good ground clearance for off road work. Mercedes and DAF have also produced grab loaders with tipping skips.

Dedicated off road tippers are a serious investment for any operator, so its worth knowing MAN produce a high bed chassis tipper that is very well designed for rough and off road operations. This class is highly specialised and there are many Far East manufacturers who produce these vehicles for local markets, such as HOWO in China.

Ritchie Bros. co-founder to sell 220-ft luxury megayacht at Ritchie Bros. unreserved auction in Grand Cayman

wedge
Home | Back | Posted on by Bijoy

On March 30, 2010, Dave Ritchie – co-founder of Vancouver-based Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE and TSX: RBA) – will sell his 220-ft (67 m) luxury megayacht at a Ritchie Bros. auction in Grand Cayman. Like every Ritchie Bros. auction, this auction will be unreserved; Apoise, the world’s 89th largest yacht, will be sold to the highest bidder on March 30th, regardless of price. Built by world-renowned Lurssen Yachts, Apoise features six decks, an outdoor Jacuzzi, numerous dining and lounge areas, an apartment-sized owner’s suite, 19 crew and spacious suites for 12 guests. Mr. Ritchie purchased the yacht new in 2006.

“I purchased Apoise when I retired, planning to sail around the world with Gloria for two years and then sell it,” said Mr. Ritchie. “I enjoyed the yacht so much that we ended up cruising for four years. We went all over the world and had a wonderful time, but now it’s time to settle. I always planned to sell the yacht with Ritchie Bros.; I really believe in the auction system. An unreserved auction, with no restrictions and no limitations, gives the fairest, most honest valuation of any item.”

The three Ritchie brothers – Dave, Ken and John – founded Ritchie Bros. in 1958 on two principles: conducting strictly unreserved auctions and treating every customer as a friend, with fairness and respect. Dave Ritchie led the company to its position as the world’s largest auctioneer of heavy equipment, with billions of dollars in annual sales and operations worldwide. When Ritchie Bros. went public in 1998, Mr. Ritchie became its first Chairman; when he retired in 2006, he was named Chairman Emeritus. He continues to attend Ritchie Bros. auctions around the world and often entertains Ritchie Bros. customers on his yacht and private island retreat in B.C.

“Our upcoming Grand Cayman auction offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that most of us can only dream about,” said Stephen Branch, Ritchie Bros. Vice President. “It is also a tremendous validation of our auctions by one of our founders. Mr. Ritchie could have sold his yacht privately, but he chose to sell it through Ritchie Bros. because he believes in the power of our global marketing reach and the fairness, honesty and transparency of our unreserved public auctions. He is a true inspiration: a self-made millionaire who has not lost touch with the people and the values that made him what he is today.”
