bauma China 2012: Enthusiasm of Exhibitors Boosts China Construction Machinery Market

Home | Back | Posted on by Chris

The spiral growth of China construction machinery market has faded in the end of 2011. And more concerns go to the market situation of 2012. However, as half a year has passed by now, the depression of China construction machinery has disappointed the positive market expectation. According to the report on Performance of the leading global construction machinery enterprises in the first quarter of 2012, many manufacturers, such as, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Atlas Copco, expressed that sales in China market from January to March 2012 had decreased in some degree. Moreover, the downturn of domestic market caused the overall decline of importing China construction machinery products and more focus on export market operation in the first quarter. In the second half of 2012, how shall China construction machinery make breakthrough and boost the market? bauma China 2012 held during 27-30 Nov 2012 will reveal the answer.

In contrast with the relatively gloomy China construction machinery market, bauma China 2012 has welcomed a large amount of applications and many exhibitors show great interest in displaying their feature products and technologies. Until now, the number of exhibitors has exceeded 2,600. With the trust of exhibitors, we keep a cool head at the same time: what do the exhibitors ask for? How will bauma China 2012 meet their requirements to the utmost? How to achieve the effective exhibition by efficient organization?

Under the depression of global construction machinery in general, enterprises need a good platform to promote the products and expand the market; for ten years’ hard work and brand accumulation, bauma China 2012 will attract about 150,000 visitors from different countries and regions. It will facilitate the Chinese enterprises to expand overseas market, including the hot construction machinery markets, such as Russia and South Africa. Enterprises would like to get in touch with the professional buyers; bauma China 2012 will gather many visitors with purchasing requests, and the effective business talk will help achieve a considerable sum of sales. South America is HOT, HOT, HOT!

wedge

Resale Weekly recently returned from São Paulo, Brazil where we attended the 8th South America, Mining, M&T Expo; and what a HOT show that was in more than one way.

With new infrastructure projects underway in the region, including the construction of 5000 km of highways in Brazil and four major initiatives worth an estimated US$ 30 billion in Columbia (including highways, seaports, airports, railways and river ways) Latin-America is really beginning to boom.

Heavy construction equipment and mining machinery is in high demand, with buyers from South America looking for quality excavators and other specialised plant.  Some are saying Latin-America is the new Australia and our man in São Paulo thinks this is right.

Alessandro Cirillo, Regional Manager at Resale Weekly and our Brazilian correspondent comments:

“Trade is brisk in not only Brazil, but across the whole region. The market is strong and demand for all kinds of equipment is high. China is an emerging power in Brazil, not only exhibiting heavily at the recent M&T Expo, but in terms of presence in the market providing all makes and models, as well as spares and support infrastructure.” Read More…

Samoter

Italian exports to Brazil in 2011 came to 82 million euros, up by 43% over 2010

Samoter, one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to construction machinery, travels in search of new buyers in Brazil as part of the build-up to the 29th edition scheduled at VeronaFiere 27 February-2 March 2014. The event is a guest until 2 June at M&T Expo in São Paulo, the leading sector exhibition in South America. Exports of Italian site machinery to Brazil keep a keen eye on local demand that will double by 2016. The sector associated with building in Brazil is worth 120 billion euros, with more than 11 million employees and 20 million new homes to be built by 2022.

Verona, 13th June 2012 - Trip to Brazil for Samoter as the guest of M&T Expo. With demand that – in accordance with the forecasts of the Sobratema Study centre – through to 2016 will post an increase of 50% (from 84,000 to 126,000 units) and a domestic market that already today represents 4% of world total, Brazil confirms its status as one of the most interesting scenarios for the construction machinery field.

A not-to-be-missed opportunity for Italian production, not the least since Italy in 2011 exported goods worth 82 million euros to Brazil, up by 43% over 2010.

For Samoter, one of the most important three-yearly international events dedicated to earth moving, site and construction machinery (www.samoter.com), there are effective trail-blazing possibilities in Brazil in the search for new international buyers and business for Italian companies. The occasion emerges through participation at M&T Expo, the leading sector exhibition in South America as a whole, open until Saturday 2 June in São Paulo.

The Centro de Exposições Imigrantes on Wednesday 30 May saw the presentation of innovations at the 29th edition of Samoter, scheduled at VeronaFiere 27 February-2 March 2014. The meeting also illustrated the latest data for market trends and the economic players in European and Italian industry for construction equipment and materials.

As well as a GianPaola Pedretti, Samoter brand manager, and Andrea Batazzi, the VeronaFiere delegate for Latin America, the event was also attended by Giovanni Sacchi, director of the Agency for Economic Development of International Trade (formerly ICE) in São Paulo, Alfonso Mamede, the President of Sobratema, the organiser of M&T Expo, and Ralf Wezel, Secretary General of Cece, the Committee for European Construction Equipment.

The overall value of the construction field in Brazil exceeds 120 billion euros, with more than 11 million employees,” Sacchi explained, “and Italy ranks sixth in terms of volumes of machinery and equipment exported to Brazil.”

The conditions for growth in Made in Italy business are very favourable, since the residential sector alone between 2012 and 2022 will require 1.8 million new homes per year, especially in the most highly populated states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro.

Wednesday also saw analysis of the European construction equipment situation with Wezel: “Europe,” he announced, “despite the world crisis, still represents 30% of the site machinery market. Estimates for 2012 envisage growth in demand of 6% compared to 2011. A slight recovery, then, driven by Germany, England and France.”

Volvo Construction Equipment Latin America is renovating and increasing its construction equipment lines. At M&T Expo 2012, held between May 29 and June 2 at the Centro de Exposições Imigrantes, in São Paulo, Volvo is introducing the “C” series skid steer loaders, “B” series backhoe loaders, “D” series excavators, in addition the “G” series wheel loaders and “F” series articulated haulers. The company, that belongs to the Volvo Group, will also exhibit its CareTrack monitoring system and Eco Operator, the brand’s operator training for its equipment.

“Volvo brought to M&T Expo equipment and solutions suited for all applications required by the market”, affirms Yoshio Kawakami, president of Volvo Construction Equipment Latin America. “We have a lot of novelties”, he announces.

The skid steer loaders, for instance, are the leading edge in this segment. “They are a revolution in safety and feature cutting edge technology”, stresses the president, noting that the C” series features a much broader product line, with advanced technology and unique features which make this machine the best option in the sector. “Safety, operator comfort and easy servicing are some of the strengths of Volvo skid steer loaders”, says Kawakami.

Productivity and comfort

The backhoes that are being exhibited at the fair also feature a number of novel features and benefits, with a 15% larger cab. “Ergonomically designed, the ‘B’ series affords more comfort for operators and higher operating productivity, in addition to being a more versatile machine and ensuring more peace of mind for the maintenance staff”, explains the president.

Volvo is also bringing its crawler excavators. With a new, 8% more powerful engine and 15% shorter cycle time, the “D” series delivers even higher productivity. “It is an extremely reliable excavator and, even better, with 8% fuel saving with respect to the previous series”, mentions the executive.

The brand’s stand also exhibits the “F” series articulated haulers, recognized worldwide for their excellent maneuverability, gradeability and efficient and safe tipping capacity. “They also ensure high level fuel efficiency”, comments Kawakami.

The “G” series wheel loaders is another successful equipment line exhibited at the event. Volvo machines have 20% more hydraulic lifting power and a 10% higher break out power as compared to the previous series. “This is equipment that affords higher productivity and lower fuel consumption, an ideal equation for our customers’ business performance”, stresses the president.

Volvo is also showing CareTrack at M&T Expo 2012, its advanced telematics system that monitors 24X7 real time the operations of a machine or a fleet. As well as exhibiting the Eco Operator, a training program that targets improving the performance of the operators for the brand’s equipment. In addition, visitors will be able to see soil and asphalt compactors – in Volvo’s Road Machinery line.

A new time

Volvo’s modern and spacious stand has, for this edition of the fair, the slogan The bridge to a new time. “It’s an invitation for our customers and visitors in general to choose different ways of basing their business supported by the values of quality, safety and environment”, declares the president.
